Salary Range: $64,308-$74,016 Annually
Cleveland County, North Carolina is seeking applications from qualified applicants for the position of assistant finance director. We are excited about adding a high talent to our team. An ideal candidate would have 3-5 years of managerial governmental accounting experience, extensive understanding of G.A.A.P. and the NC Fiscal Control Act. This position would report directly to the finance director. Some primary responsibilities would be drafting of County CAFR, managing the County’s internal audit function, and staff development.
Performs professional, managerial, & administrative work planning, organizing and executing the financial activities of the county under the general supervision of the finance director. Prepares financial statements and reports, develops office procedures, assists external auditors, conducts internal audits, prepares cash flow tracking, forecasting and analysis. Completes quarterly financial reports and organizational revenue estimates. Must have considerable knowledge of the NC Fiscal Control Act. Serves in the absence of the finance director.
Minimum Education and Experience
Requires graduation from a 4 year college/university with a degree in accounting or related field and extensive accounting and financial reporting experience including considerable supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. MPA, CPA and/or LGFO certifications preferred.
