Registration for the NCLGBA’s 2016 Summer Conference in Wrightsville Beach on July 13-15th is now open. The link below will direct you to an online conference registration form that is similar to our online membership form that we used this year. We are slowly working our way into the 21st century by incorporating more online forms that will assist our Treasurer (thanks Bo Gattis) to process your registrations more efficiently and effectively. However, you will still need to mail in conference registration checks (baby steps), and each conference attendee will need to fill out the conference registration form. After you complete the form, a copy should be emailed to you (check your spam filters); please include a copy of the emailed form with your check.
The online registration form is available here: NCLGBA 2016 Summer Conference Registration Form
You may now book your hotel room reservations at the conference rate of $189 per night. Please call Shell Island’s Reservation desk today at (910) 256-8696 or (800) 689-6765 and tell them you are attending the 2016 NCLGBA Summer Conference. The cut-off date is Tuesday, June 21st but we only have a limited number of rooms available at the group rate so do not wait.
Pre-Conference Class Opportunity
We are excited to announce that Dr. David Ammons, the Albert Coates Professor of Public Administration and Government at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Government, will be offering his Performance Measurement 101 class prior to the 2016 Summer Conference. The class is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, July 12th at Shell Island, and it is one of the classes required to become a Certified Budget Officer. The School of Government will handle class registration and additional information about registering for this exciting opportunity will be sent out later on the listserv. If you would like to learn more about how to become a Certified Budget Officer, please click here or contact one of the NCLGBA Board members.
2016 NCLGBA Conference Scholarship
Finally, the NCLGBA is excited to extend financial support through the 2016 NCLGBA Conference Scholarship Program to all first-time attendees, which includes MPA students, interns, new professionals to our field or to the Conference itself. The scholarship provides conference registration and two nights hotel stay to attend the upcoming summer conference. All applications are due at midnight, Friday, April 29th. If you or someone you know is interested in attending another outstanding budget conference as our 2016 scholarship winner and have questions or want more information, please contact Josh Edwards, NCLGBA 1st Vice President.
