Salary Range: $40,696.52 – $61,929.53 Annually
The City of Hendersonville is seeking a full-time Budget & Management Analyst within the City Manager’s Office. This is a professional level position working independently to prepare and administer the City’s operating and capital budgets, support multi-year strategic planning efforts, manage special projects, and contribute to policy discussions. The City of Hendersonville owns and operates a water and sewer utility serving over 60,000 customers. This position will work primarily on water and sewer related budget, projects, and initiatives. This position’s primary responsibility will be the formulation and execution of the utility fund’s budget. Additionally the employee will provide managerial oversight and analysis of budget related projects and initiatives.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, and 1 – 3 years of experience in local government budgeting. A Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field, is preferred and may be substituted for experience. Qualified candidates will additionally have advanced proficiency using budget planning software systems and analytical tools, Microsoft Excel to create tables and graphs for management discussions, conduct analysis, and develop analytical models, and Microsoft Word and PowerPoint to persuasively and effectively communicate context, issues, and recommendations.
The start date for this position will be no earlier than July 1st, 2017.
