The NCLGBA Board is pleased to announce two scholarship winners for the 2018 Summer Conference:
University of North Carolina Master of Public Administration Candidate; Wake County Budget and Management Services Graduate Intern
Western Carolina University Master of Public Affairs Candidate
Please be sure to introduce yourself to our winners at the summer conference, give a warm welcome, share a little about yourself during the networking breaks (REGISTER FOR THE CONFERENCE IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY DONE SO), and hold onto their contact information to make future connections.
The course is Introduction to Program Evaluation, taught by Professor Maureen M. Berner, will be offered as a pre-conference session on Tuesday, July 9, 2019. This course is a consistent favorite and one of the requirements for the Budget and Evaluation Officer Certification program.
Attendees will receive training on evaluating public services and programs. At the end of the course, participants will understand and be able to describe program evaluation, and how it fits with budget planning and implementation. In addition, participants will be able to identify a variety of program evaluation tools, map out a basic evaluation plan that could be used in their office, and understand how to effectively present evaluation results.
