Major Duties & Responsibilities
Solid Waste Services (SWS) has an annual operating budget of approximately $55M and 305 full time employees.
This position works closely with the Department’s Business& Administration Manager to provide analysis of budgets and fiscal reporting. Analyzes and assists in the development of financial processes and procedures. Coordinates collection and preparation of operating reports, analyzes findings and formulates recommendations. Develops and administers operating budgets; provides research, analysis and prepares reports on program costs; reconciles costs with general ledger and budgets; interacts with internal and external customers; assists in analysis of program performance and preparation/monitoring of contracts; assists in development of Department Business Strategic Operating Plan and Balanced Scorecard; administers performance analysis for assigned cost centers and conducts studies or works on special projects as required; represents the department on various internal teams.
Requires four year degree with five years of experience; five to seven years’ experience in the administration of budgets and program costing/accounting ,public budget, procurement of goods/services and financial administration, preferred; must have strong organizational skills and the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external agencies and customers; must have experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and related systems,Microsoft Office Suite software with proficiency in Excel and Word required; must have strong oral and written communication skills; experience in writing executive reports and Internal auditing experience, a plus; must be able to perform effectively in a multifaceted team-oriented work environment. Work shift is Monday through Friday.
