Pitt County is a rapidly growing, well-diversified employment and service center for eastern North Carolina. The County is one of the fastest growing counties in the state with a population of nearly 175,000. The County has an overall budget of $223 million (General Fund – $159 million), and 950 employees. The Budget Administrator reports directly to the Deputy County Manager/Chief Financial Officer, works closely with the County Manager and other senior management staff, and supervises one (1) Budget & Grants Analyst position.
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, public or business administration, or related field and 6 years of managerial, budgeting, accounting or auditing experience, preferably in a governmental setting; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Prefer an individual with experience preparing and managing budgets in a similarly sized unit of government and with supervisory experience.
