Hiring Range: $48,720 – $59,706 annually
Under direct supervision, assists with the development, preparation, administration, and analysis of the Metropolitan Sewerage District of Buncombe County operational budget. Works with all departments to develop yearly budget; analyzes various historical critical components of the budget and advises Directors and Managers; Reviews individual department expenses throughout the year and consults with departments to resolve any identified issues or discrepancies. Prepares a variety of budget and analytical reports, written memoranda and records. Employee is responsible for ensuring that benchmarks and/or performance measures are included in the District’s annual budget. Employee is also responsible for assisting department heads by providing general budget information and advice, as requested, and preparing budgeting reports and summary statements. This position does not have direct supervision or evaluation responsibility for any employees. Reports to the Director of Finance.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business and or public administration or a related field, and at least 3 years of responsible utility budgeting experience encompassing multi-million dollar funds; or any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
- North Carolina Certified Budget and Evaluation Officer Certification desirable, but not required.
